About QiblaFinder

QiblaFinder is a free online tool that shows the direction of the Qibla (the Kaaba in Makkah) from any location on Earth. It was built for travellers, new Muslims, and anyone who needs a trustworthy prayer direction without installing an app.

How it calculates: your browser shares your GPS coordinates with this page (only with your permission). The page then computes the initial bearing of the great-circle route to the Kaaba at 21.4225° N, 39.8262° E, corrects the live compass heading for magnetic declination with the World Magnetic Model, and renders it all on an interactive dial. Every step happens on your device. There is no server, no account, and no tracking.

Accuracy matters for prayer, so the math is verified against independent geodesic references to within a fraction of a degree. The remaining uncertainty comes from phone hardware itself, which is why the site teaches calibration (the figure-8 motion) and lists common sources of magnetic interference.

QiblaFinder is a work in progress: more languages, city-specific Qibla pages and prayer-time tools are on the roadmap.
